Paralyzed

Paralyzed

Hey beautiful people,

It isn’t Wednesday. *covers face* *shame* Starting this year, TODAY, The Waiting Space will always have a thought on the blog on Wednesday whether announced or not on IG/Fb/Twitter. So in your free time, swing past the blog for a thought, encouragement, a joke, or a simple check in.

It’s been a while. Eh. It’s always been a while. I recently posted on my vlog via YouTube: Alicia Elizabeth that I am trying to find a commitment schedule and life that works with me and my ever changing schedule. I mention and discuss this quote by Albert Einstein where he says, “ I haven’t failed, I’ve just found 10, 000 ways which don’t work.” That is SO my thing. I am not giving up on this blog, on the vision I have for the blog or the vision God has given me on/for my life. I’ve just found ways which don’t work. So, bare with me.

I love y’all. I totally appreciate my readers and my people who check in/up on me.

The accountability to any goal is SO real. SO SO So thankful for my community of support and readers. Shout out to ya’ll. You all are the real MVP’s. So from the very bottom to the very top of my heart, THANK YOU.

Let’s jump in shall we?

Today, I want to discuss FEAR. My hope and my prayer is to be brief, but ya’ll know how the Holy Spirit moves. I get on here with 2 points and end with 10. LOL!

What is fear?

The definition is: an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

The first thing I want to say is that, FEAR is real.

The emotion attached to fear is a real thing, and what I would like to personally say or do before I move on is affirm someone in this truth: fear is an emotion, an unpleasant one and I understand that you are experiencing it. My hope however that is it’s an emotion that you honestly identify but don’t attach yourself to.

As believers one of the mistakes we make is acknowledging a “thing or an emotion” and quickly divert the problem into a different direction out with some catchy line like “name it and claim it.” “Name it and shame it.” (I literally just made that up, and it caused me to laugh because it’s catchy.) And eh…I get it. It’s positive thinking in action. It’s shifting your perspective from negative- end of the world- I am going to die- to, “there’s a brighter day ahead.” I get it. I’m not shaming it. However, what I want to do today is address FEAR and equip us with strategy to fight fear. (Because it’s real.)

First thing’s first. Fear is paralyzing.

What does it mean to be paralyzing? Partly or wholly incapable of movement.

FEAR PARALYZES YOU.

How?

The emotion experienced when we are afraid, as the definition says, is unpleasant, because somewhere in our thinking we’ve accepted as TRUTH that whatever we fear is DANGEROUS, likely to cause us PAIN and is a THREAT.

Today, I want to discuss your fears.

I don’t know what you’re afraid of.

However, I am going to say this boldly, IT WAS SENT FROM THE ENEMY TO PARALYZE YOU.

I don’t know what you’ve been through, and I never want to rob you of your life experiences (even the hard ones.) However, I want to say again, IT WAS SENT TO PARALYZE YOU.

Fear of your safety? God is a protector.

Fear of your finances? God is a provider.

Fear of being alone for the rest of your life? God is a friend and a present…

Fear of starting your dreams? God is reliable. God needs your obedience and He will assist you in seeing it through.

Fear of public speaking? Didn’t God create your mouth?

Fear of your wants never happening? Fear of never being excellent? Fear of launching in the direction God is calling you to? Fear of being inadequate? Fear of… etc

Isn’t God the great I am?

(Don’t answer that quickly…)

Isn’t God the great I am?

If you don’t know Him to be the great I am. (I am being--- whatever you need him to be, whenever you need him to be it.)

I challenge you to do the very thing you’re afraid of AND ask God to step in and assist in a special way which makes him REAL to you.

If you DO know him to be the great I am…then why allow the enemy to magnify a fear bigger than you’re God?

Want to know a hard truth I am learning and have learned?

Fear is not an excuse to be out of alignment and/or not doing or being where you’re supposed to be.

But..Alicia… you don’t get it…

I know that Isaish 41:10 tells me to fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed (distressed) for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

I know that nowhere in that scripture was God suggesting He will help, instead He made definite statements.

*come on Holy Spirit*

Did you know that the definition to “WILL” is”: expressing the future tense. Expressing inevitable events?

HONEYYYYY I literally just shouted in my spirit.

The bible says, I WILL (because what’s destined to happen is inevitable) I WILL be with you. (Because there will be times that you feel alone.) I WILL strengthen you (because there will be times that you are weak) I will help you (because there will be times that you are helpless) and I will uphold you (because there will be times you need support and need confirming.) with my righteous hand.

Do not run from fear.

Face it.

Face it and declare what God said.

OPEN YOUR MOUTH (because when you SPEAK a thing…. Honey…when you SPEAK a thing…the atmosphere shifts)

Open your mouth and tell fear, “YOU CAN’T and DON’T LIVE HERE—GET OUT!!

Second thing, fighting fear is a spiritual thing.

We can’t grab knife and cut fear.

Why?

Because it’s in our mental that we battle. It’s in our spiritual, that it torments, and so you can’t bring carnal weapons to a spiritual battle!

It’s time (today) that you start telling fear who your God is and what He has said about YOU and the situation.

1.       He said He’d always be there

2.       That He will keep you in PERFEFCT peace if you trust him and keep your mind on Him. (Isaiah 26:3)

A lot of us are struggling mentally and in our private spaces because our minds aren’t stayed on God. We aren’t worshipping in our free time, we aren’t making time to get in our word and we aren’t even talking to God. (baby, I talk to God in the shower, while I use the bathroom, when I’m shopping, driving. Doing dishes. Honey I just ramble allll day to God.) Doing this affirms 2 things, that He’s with me and that He’s bigger than anything going on in my day. There’s not a single problem I can bring to God that’s bigger than Him. (Someone needs to re-read that. )

So with allllllllll of that said. (LOL) I just want to Hug someone today *virtual hug* and say so sweetly to you, Baby..it’s ok. What you’re currently fearing, I get it. The emotion you’re experiencing, ouch. Hurts. And I am so sorry that you’re experiencing it, but sugga it’s time to shake it off. It’s time to talk back. It’s time to flex that strength and remember where and who your help comes from. It’s time to be mobile again. Fear has held you down and back long enough.

Not another day, says God.

Xoxox,

Alicia Elizabeth
