Breathing Exercises
Disappointment of any kind teaches you how to breathe.
While telling myself to take a deep breath and to count to 10 I am reminded of how irrational my thinking is when I am not breathing.
Breathe in. (hold it)
Breathe out.
Breathe in. (hold it)
Breathe out.
I continue this exercise for easily 35 long moments.
I say to myself as I try to focus…
not on my thoughts, but on my breathing.
I feel the tingling sensation in my face lighten.
My temperature drops and I don’t feel as warm.
My heart slows down in it’s beating and suddenly I am thinking…
again,
about what I was previously thinking about.
Instead this time, I am rational.
“It’s okay, It’s not true.”
“this time, trust your “why.”
