I am powerful beyond measure.
It is Sunday, May 12, 2019. The time is 6:06am and I have a thought.
This thought has been lingering for about a week now and I want to share it with you.
''I am powerful beyond measure.”
Your turn.
You say it.
“I am powerful beyond measure.”
It comes from one of my absolute favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson entitled, “Our deepest fear.”
I just want to grab her and hug her for so eloquently putting the entire piece together.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
I posted “I am powerful beyond measure” today on my social media and the caption read, “Today makes a great day to walk in your FULL capacity.”
I am challenging myself and others to this for today, tomorrow and for the remainder of your life.
Something shifted for me this morning.
I’ve been playing small.
Occasionally bringing my brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous self.
Choosing to ONLY be one of the many dimensions embedded in me.
Showing a hand full of shades instead of all of them.
Trying not to appear so complex, instead of honoring the complexities.
Behaviors like those cause me to stop and think, do I even like me? (ask yourself that).
If you downplay yourself, does the world even know you?
When I say, “know” I mean, intimately and authentically.
Are we doing a disservice to the kingdom when we dim who we are?
Do we short change his glory when we play timid in the presence of others?
Of those who need to see just how magnificent his works are?
Of those who need to see how profound his thoughts are (when he thought enough to create myself and/or you.)
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you.
Who are we doing a favor to when we play small?
What voice are we listening to when we box ourselves in?
He has not given us a spirit of fear, so what spirit are we operating in when we don’t go forth full force?
This week, show up & show up largely.
Bring all of you + some.
You fabulous, brilliant, gorgeous and talented, you.
XoxoXoxoxoXO,
Alicia Elizabeth
