Hey lovelies,
It’s Wednesday and I am SO excited to be back with another blog post. I am praying everyone has had and is having an amazing week and if you aren’t, well baby there is STILL time to do so. (Be intentional about your peace, be intentional about your space, and be intentional about your joy.)
Yesterday I had the sweetest privilege of teaching Ohio University bible study and it had me and STILL has me stirred up. I don’t plan to write out the entire sermon however I will share a few snippets of what I talked about:
- The children of Israel have been my favorite group of people to date. The more I study them, the more I realize they mirror me. (Say what?) Yes. In all of their ignorance, in all of their disobedience, in all of their stupid decision making, in all of their bad preferences, in all of their bad taste for spouses, in all of their lack of faith, in all of their….. mess, they remind me of myself. In reminding me of myself, they also show me…
- How patient God is with me. How loving, how intentional and how present He is in my life. When you read about the children of Israel, as the reader you see the entire timeline and so it’s easy to grow frustrated with them. However, think about God, who journeyed with them, who had to RE-teach things to them and who had to constantly push them into purpose figuratively and literally.
- Moses is thee man. (I keep telling ya’ll rumor has it that he was fine too! LOL) He was an awesome leader who WHILE leading (while in His purpose) still had to learn, still had to grow in faith and still got it wrong, and yet God remained in communion/Relationship with Him.
- While Pharaoh was in fact after the children of Israel and meant them harm, plot twist, God was after Pharaoh’s heart too! Repeatedly in the word of God we see God mentioning that He needed Pharaoh and his men to see the glory of God.
- Our purpose is not about us, but instead is about partnering with God for His glory.
- God intentionally had the children of Israel go the long way--- who wants to go the long way? No one. However the word of God tells us that they weren’t battle ready. By battle ready, I believe this meant, battle ready--- spiritually. While they were large in number, they weren’t ready to really face Pharaoh or any of the problems that would come their way. (As a matter fact the word of God said the assumption was they might return to Egypt which wasn’t acceptable.)
- God want’s this walk to be “real” for you, so be ok with being ok, and be ok with not being ok. Be honest about where you are in this walk and praying for those who aren’t on the same journey as you.

Listen.
I believe we got a mouth full last night. However I was seriously encouraged and am still chewing, because the word of God is just that good.
XoxoxoXo,
